Frequently asked questions

  • For each video we add up likes, comments, shares and saves and divide by its views, then average that over the account's latest 10 videos (pinned videos are left out). That's the same formula Tokchart uses everywhere.
  • Instagram engagement rate is usually likes plus comments on a post, divided by the account's followers. Enter your average likes, comments and followers to get it.
  • For YouTube we use likes plus comments divided by views, for a typical video.
  • When we don't have fresh numbers for an account, we fetch them from TikTok, and those lookups take their turn in a queue. Accounts we checked in the last day come back straight away. Paid plans skip the queue.
  • It varies a lot by niche and account size: smaller accounts usually have higher rates. Compare yourself with similar creators rather than one fixed number, and watch how your own rate changes over time.
  • No. Private accounts' videos aren't public, so we can't read their likes or views.
